Printed cloth

This very striking doll is quite a big doll at 65 cm tall.  Her features, including her underwear, are printed onto the fabric.  Although no maker's mark, she is similar to the type of doll produced by Art Fabrics Mills in the USA.  The dolls were usually sold printed on a piece of fabric and the owner would cut them out and sew them together.  The dolls were made quite big so that they would fit baby clothes, indeed she wears an old baby dress.  She dates from around the 1900s.
