Parian with pierced ears
This elegant German parian type doll measures 38 cm tall. Her head is on a kidolene type body which isn't original to her but it's about the right size. She has a busy hairstyle with braids, curls and a black bow. Unlike most china or parian dolls her ears are showing (sometimes called exposed ears) and she also has holes for earrings. There are no markings on her shoulderplate to give a clue as to her maker. I've been unable to match her up to any specific maker in my parian and china doll books however she would have been made around 1880.
