Kathe Kruse Doll I

This charming old doll is by the German company of Kathe Kruse and is the first model that was made, between 1911 and 1929.  It is characterised by its wide hips and the many pieces of fabric that make up the body shaping.  His head is made from moulded fabric which was hand painted in the factory.  He is 43 cm tall.  He's been well loved with a few body repairs and typical of these dolls he has a rub to his nose!
