Ideal Trilby
Ideal made several models of multi-face vinyl doll. This one is called Trilby and although the faces on some of Ideal's multi-face dolls look the same, the bodies and clothing differ. The Trilby doll has a cloth body with vinyl lower limbs. Similar models such as the Magic Face Baby have plush bodies instead and are a bit smaller. The Trilby doll measures 50 cm tall. This one is all original including box and looks like she was never played with. She even still smells of baby powder like a lot of dolls from this era (1950s) did when they were new. The label on the box would indicate that the doll was available in three hair colours (dark, blonde and red) and four dress colours (white, pink, blue and yellow). Her box is ticked red for the hair and yellow for the dress. The pink and blue dresses were probably more popular because when Trilby dolls turn up wearing original dresses, they're usually in those colours.
