French Dolls

French dolls are always popular.  The early French bebe dolls with closed mouths are particularly sought after as they were beautifully made and were expensive in their day (often still are!).  In around 1899, in order to become more competitive with the German doll market, the French doll companies combined to form SFBJ and although the quality of dolls generally wasn't the same, they still produced some lovely examples.  A variety of French dolls are featured here.  Click on the thumbnail pictures for more detail on each doll.
