FG Fashion

One of my favourite dolls, this little French fashion doll is only 20 cm tall.  She has a bisque shoulderhead marked FG with fabulous fixed blue glass eyes, closed mouth and pierced ears with earrings.  The painting on her face is amazing for such a small doll.  She has a mohair wig and original outfit.  Her body is cloth and is fixed onto a stand because she also has an automaton movement.  Her arms are metal with one hand holding a pair of glasses, the other some kind of sewing accessory.   There is a pullstring underneath her stand that when pulled raises the arm holding the glasses up to her eyes.  She would date from around the 1870s.
