Bucherer metal doll

This doll is marked only with Made in Switzerland, Patents Applied For but was made by the Swiss company of Bucherer between 1921 and 1930.  He is 16 cm in height and is made of metal with composition head and hands.  His many joints make him very poseable.  Bucherer made these dolls in many different characters and this particular doll is the character Jeff from a cartoon pair called Mutt and Jeff.  He would originally have worn a suit made primarily of felt.
